Fund Stability Score
The Fund Stability Score (0β100) describes how consistently a fund has behaved over time. It combines five areas: return behaviour, drawdowns, risk-adjusted behaviour, cost efficiency and scale. The first three use the fund's NAV history. Cost and scale are compared with the fund's peers: active Direct Growth plans in the same category, with International funds grouped separately as Equity or Debt. Where a peer group has fewer than five funds, cost and scale are scored neutrally. Funds with less than three years of NAV history are labelled "Insufficient History". The score describes past behaviour. It is not a rating, a forecast or a recommendation.
Pulse alerts
Pulse flags funds whose Stability Score has fallen over the last 13 weeks, in three tiers: Watch (early drift), Persistent Decline, and Structural Weakness (a large fall combined with a bottom-quartile position in the category). Alerts are generated weekly. Because cost data updates monthly and fund-size data quarterly, a change in either can move a score within a single week and appear in Pulse.
Data and update cadence
NAV is updated daily. Expense ratio (TER) is updated monthly and assets under management (AUM) quarterly. All of this data is sourced from AMFI India. Stability Scores are recalculated weekly.
Methodology updates
19 October 2026 β Peer comparison update
We corrected how the Stability Score compares a fund's cost and size with its peers, and recalculated scores across the full history on the same basis. We also created separate peer groups for Retirement and Children's funds, split International funds into Equity and Debt, and aligned the rules for current and historical Pulse alerts. Weights are unchanged. Some scores and bands moved, mostly slightly lower. Articles published before this date use the earlier calculation.
